Is it safe to submit a redacted bank statement?
Yes — redaction is the standard practice for proof-of-address and income verification. Always use solid black bars, not blur, because blur can sometimes be reversed.
What should I NOT redact?
For proof of address: keep your full name, full address, bank name, and statement date. For income verification: also keep payroll deposits and (usually) the closing balance.
Is blur safe enough?
No. Blurred text can sometimes be deblurred. Pixelation can be un-pixelated with AI. Only solid opaque bars (black or white) are truly irreversible.
Can I redact a PDF?
EditThisPic works on images. Screenshot the PDF page or export it as a PNG, then redact. Save the redacted image — don't re-export to PDF if you want the redaction to be permanent.
Will it also hide my bank branding?
By default no — bank logos stay visible so the statement is still identifiable as genuine. Ask to 'also redact the bank logo' if you want even that hidden.
Can I redact multiple pages?
One image at a time. Screenshot each page individually and redact in sequence.
What about signatures or handwriting?
Name handwritten elements in the prompt — 'redact the handwritten signature at the bottom' — or they may be treated as part of the layout.
Is it legal to redact before submission?
Yes. Redacting sensitive info is the expected practice. Landlords, embassies, and employers all accept redacted statements as long as the required fields are visible.
Does it store my bank statement?
The image is processed for the edit and deleted shortly after. See our privacy policy. For maximum caution, delete the result from your device once you've submitted it.
What photo formats work?
JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and screenshots. PDF pages need to be exported as images first.
Is it free?
Yes. First edit each week free. Packs of 3 edits for $1.99 if you need to redact multiple statements.
Does the black bar look professional?
Yes. Solid black bars match the style used by banks, law firms, and government agencies. It's the standard redaction look.
How much does EditThisPic cost?
You get 1 free edit per week — no account needed. After that, credit packs start at $1.99 for 3 edits. Monthly plans start at $4.99/mo for 15 edits with unused credits rolling over. All edits are full resolution with no watermark.
