Remove People from the Background of a Photo

How it works

   Upload the photo with the background people visible

   JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 7MB. Any shot where the people you want gone are behind or beside your subject — a street, a beach, a museum hall. The more of the background around them you can see, the more the AI has to rebuild from.

   Expect: A plain wall or open sky takes about 15-30 seconds and usually comes back clean. Strangers standing in front of tiled floors, railings, or crowds are harder, and the rebuilt patch may need a second pass.

   Describe who goes and what should fill the space

   Type the whole instruction: 'remove the three people walking behind the woman in the red coat, continue the grey stone wall and pavement, keep her exactly as she is.' There is nothing to select or mark — describing where they are and what they wear is how the AI finds them, and naming the fill is how it knows what to rebuild.

   Tip: Say what should be there instead. 'Continue the wall' or 'extend the sky' gives a far more convincing patch than 'remove the people' alone.

   Check the rebuilt area, not the subject

   Zoom into where the people were. Look for lines that should continue — kerbs, brick courses, horizon — and for repeated texture or a soft blur where the AI ran out of information. The subject you named should be pixel-for-pixel as shot.

   Refine with a marker if needed

   If one background figure survived or the wrong person vanished, tap a marker on the figure you mean and repeat the instruction. For a couple of clearly separated strangers the description alone is normally enough.
