   Use a photo taken from eye level or slightly tilted up so the ceiling is clearly visible. The more ceiling surface visible in the photo, the more dramatic the color change will appear. JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 7MB.

   Describe the new ceiling color and finish

   Type your instruction directly: 'change the ceiling to deep navy blue, matte flat paint finish' or 'paint the ceiling warm sage green, keep the walls and trim white.' Specifying the finish type (matte flat is standard for ceilings) produces a more realistic result. No marking needed — the AI understands 'the ceiling.'

   Tip: Matte flat finish is the standard for ceilings — it reduces glare and hides imperfections. Add 'flat matte ceiling paint' to any colored ceiling prompt to ensure the AI renders a non-reflective surface.

   Check ceiling edges at crown molding and wall transitions

   Zoom to 100% on the ceiling edge where it meets the walls or crown molding. This transition zone is where the color change is most likely to look unnatural. Verify that the walls remained the correct color.

   Refine with markers if walls changed too

   If the walls changed color along with the ceiling, tap markers on the ceiling surface and regenerate with an explicit 'only change the ceiling, walls must remain [original color]' instruction.

   Tip: Markers are for precision refinement — most flat ceiling color changes work from description alone without any marking.
