   Drop your image into EditThisPic. JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 7MB. Works on screenshots, candid photos, and social media exports with emoji overlays. The clearer the background under the emoji, the better the reconstruction.

   Expect: Single emoji over a plain background: 15–25 seconds. Emoji placed over a face or detailed subject may need one refinement pass to restore the area underneath.

   Describe the emoji to remove

   Type what you see: 'remove the large yellow laughing face emoji in the upper right corner' or 'erase the fire emoji overlay in the center of the image and restore the photo underneath.' Describe the emoji's position and color — the AI doesn't need markers to find it.

   Tip: Mention what the emoji is covering if you know — 'remove the face emoji covering the person's face and restore their face' tells the AI to reconstruct, not just erase.

   Check the restored area at full zoom

   Zoom to 100% where the emoji was. If it covered a plain background, the fill should be seamless. If it covered a face, check that the skin tone and facial features look natural — the AI reconstructs plausibly but results vary depending on how much of the face was hidden.

   Refine with markers if reconstruction looks off

   If the emoji covered a face and the reconstruction looks unnatural, tap a marker on the affected area and use a focused prompt: 'restore the face under the emoji naturally — match the skin tone and features of the rest of the face.' Markers narrow the AI's attention to the precise problem area.

   Tip: Emoji removal over plain backgrounds almost never needs markers. Use them only when the emoji was covering a face or detailed subject.
