Is fixing uneven lighting really free?
Yes. EditThisPic gives one free Fast edit per week per IP with no signup. Paid packs start at $4.99 for 10 edits.
Will the photo still look natural?
Yes if you prompt for natural skin tones and some retained shadow. Over-corrected lighting looks fake — keeping some shadow contrast is what makes the result believable.
Can I fix harsh midday shadows in outdoor photos?
Yes. Prompt 'soften the harsh midday shadows on the face and ground — balance the lighting to a softer overcast look while keeping the daylight color.'
How long does it take?
About 20 seconds in Fast mode. Pro mode (2 credits) takes 30-40 seconds and is worth it for backlight or strong-shadow cases where detail recovery matters.
Does it work on group photos with mixed light?
Yes. Prompt 'balance the lighting across each person in this group — match the brightness of people in shade to people in sun.' For 4+ people, Pro mode gives more consistent results.
Can I fix lighting on a phone photo?
Yes. Any JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 7MB. Convert iPhone HEIC to JPG first.
Will the colors shift?
Add 'keep all colors and skin tones true to the original — only fix the brightness imbalance' to prevent color drift during the lighting fix.
Is there a watermark?
No. Free and paid edits both produce watermark-free output.
