How it works

   Upload or scan the polaroid

   Scan the polaroid if you can, or photograph it flat in even daylight with no glare — JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 7MB. Include the white frame in your scan if you want to keep the classic instant-film look.

   Expect: Color shift and low contrast correct well in most cases. Very badly faded polaroids with almost no visible image left have less detail for the AI to work from.

   Describe the restoration

   Say what you want: 'correct the brown-yellow color shift and restore natural contrast, keep the white polaroid frame.' Or, for a modern look: 'fully modernize the color and remove the instant-film look.'

   Tip: Decide up front whether you want the vintage instant-film character kept or removed — the same faded polaroid can go either way.

   Review closely

   Zoom in on faces and skin tones — color-shift correction is the part most likely to look slightly off if pushed too far. Compare against the original for the direction of the fix.

   Refine with a marker if needed

   If one area still looks off — a patch of remaining discoloration, for example — tap a marker on that spot and describe it. Markers are optional for most polaroid restorations.
