Change Roof Color in a Photo

How it works

   Upload a picture of the house

   Shoot from far enough back that the whole roof plane is in frame, ideally from a slight angle so you see more than a thin edge of shingle. JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 7MB.

   Expect: A large, clearly visible roof recolors in about 15-25 seconds. A roof seen almost edge-on, or one lost in glare from midday sun, gives the AI very little surface to work with and often needs a retry.

   Describe the roof color you want

   Type it plainly: 'change the roof shingles to charcoal black and leave the rest of the house alone.' There is no selection tool and nothing to outline — naming the roof and the color is the whole instruction.

   Tip: Say 'shingles', 'tiles', or 'metal roofing' rather than just 'roof' — the material sets how light reflects off the new color.

   Check the roof edges

   Look at the ridge line, the gutters, the eaves, and any dormers. A recolor that stops cleanly at the fascia looks right; one that bleeds onto the gutters or the sky is the giveaway.

   Refine with a marker if needed

   If a dormer or a garage roof kept the old color, tap a marker on it and describe that section alone. Markers are optional touch-up tools, not a required step.
